Chef

We are looking for somebody with experience and the ability to communicate well. We need someone who can work in and help run a kitchen and make sure that the basics are done right. The rest will follow.

Who we are

Check out our website: http://www.otematatalakeshotel.co.nz

Or click on the link on our website to see our facebook page.

We are a surprisingly busy place that is always growing its clientèle.

We have two other resturants in other locations. So the room for growth in the industry is good.

What we do

We are very passionate about our food. Our food is good quality, reasonably simple food with a wow factor. Our menu is designed around catering for good numbers of diners to be served and on tables quickly and efficently. So we need someone who can learn our ways and work fast with a cool head.

We have a professional, supportive family culture in the way we work together. The Kitchen is the hub of all of our businesses.

You would be working a long side a strong executive chef who provides support and or the freedom you need once you learn how we operate.

Schooling

There is a Pre School and Primary School in the area (Kurow). Primary School Bus, pre school community car pooling.

There are also high school options (Oamaru) including bus transport.

Housing

Housing in area (Kurow - Omarama and here in Otematata). Short term accommodation can be provided for yourself at the hotel.

Seasonality & Job Security

We have not experienced very quiet times in the winter months due to providing an ongoing contractors site with food for the last couple of years and generally picking up the business and clientelle over the last 3 years.

To stay productive in any quieter times - we prepare some food for our other sites.

With this, and our experience of the industry we can guarantee minimum hours year round for greater job security.

Help with Visa?

We are experienced in and can provide help with visa’s and residency for the right person.

We see having transport as a very important though not essential part of living here to make the most of the place.
