Hunting

There is some excellent hunting in the Otematata area. Also, for a more social (and less strenuous!) event - claybird shooting can be arranged - that usually turns into a fun and competitive outing.  Get in contact if you would like us to arrange this for your event.

Hunting Info:

The Oteake Range Hunting block to the east of Otematata - where you will find Red deer and Pigs - this is the best bet for the independent hunter (see below for details).

Over the lake towards the south around Te Akatarawa you will find Wallaby, Pigs and Deer. (Station owner: Fred Graham)

At the Waikoura Station near the Hakataramea River there are Pigs, Wallaby, Red and Fallow deer and Quail. Get in touch with us to arrange a shoot with Murray Elliot at the station.

There are also Rabbits galore at many times of the year. Quail and in some areas Thar and Shammy.
